Papyri is a Dubai-based, surface design studio exploring the intersection of materials, surfaces, objects and sculptural furniture.

Rooted in the cultural and tactile qualities of papyrus, the studio develops innovative architectural surfaces and material applications that translate ancient fibres into a contemporary design language.

Papyri works across material research, surface development, product design and architectural applications, creating distinctive solutions for interiors, hospitality, retail and bespoke projects.

We're looking for a curious and talented Product / Industrial Design Intern to join our team for a 3-month internship.

Remote or Dubai-based.

Job Description

If you love taking an idea from a sketch to something real, this one's for you.

You'll work across concept development, materials, furniture and product design — from the first moodboard and sketch through to technical drawings, prototyping and final production details.

What you'll be working on:

• Product, furniture and object concepts

• Sketching and concept development

• Moodboards and design research

• 3D modelling and visualisation

• Technical and production drawings

• Dimensions, detailing and material specifications

• Prototype development and design revisions

• Taking ideas from concept through to final production

We'd love to meet you if you have:

• A background in Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design or a related field

• Strong technical drawing skills

• A good understanding of construction, dimensions and fabrication

• Experience with Rhino, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar software

• Adobe Creative Suite skills

• Strong visual and conceptual thinking

• A genuine curiosity for materials, furniture, objects and sustainable design

This is a 3-month unpaid internship / training opportunity with hands-on involvement in real products, materials, new collections and upcoming launches.

Location: Remote or Dubai-based

Duration: 3 months
