About the Company
Our client is an Abu Dhabi-based technology company developing enterprise solutions across security, digital identity, and secure computing.
Its products support government entities, defence organisations, and critical infrastructure clients across the GCC and international markets. The company operates in complex, high-stakes environments but believes that sophisticated technology should still be intuitive, engaging, and thoughtfully designed.
They are now looking for a designer who can help shape the experience of their products, websites, and wider digital presence.
The Role
This is a senior individual contributor position for someone who can do more than simply execute a brief. You should be comfortable questioning requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending a stronger design approach where needed.
You will take ownership of the design function across enterprise product UI/UX, corporate and marketing websites, digital campaigns, presentations, and other brand materials.
Working closely with developers, product managers, and senior leadership, you will help ensure that the final product reflects the original design vision and delivers a strong experience for its
intended users.
The ideal candidate can look at a project from several perspectives: the user, business objective, platform, overall journey, and visual impact. You understand when an interface needs to be clean and restrained, and when a digital experience needs to be bolder and more attention-grabbing.
What You Will Own
Product Design and UI/UX
- Manage the full product design lifecycle, including user research, journey mapping, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity interfaces, and developer-ready specifications.
- Design polished and intuitive experiences for complex enterprise applications across web and mobile.
- Create user flows, interaction models, and information structures that simplify sophisticated functionality.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system, including components, variables, tokens, patterns, and documentation.
- Review existing user journeys, identify areas of friction, and improve designs based on user feedback and available data.
- Design for different user groups, ranging from technical operators to senior government and business stakeholders.
Visual Design and Brand
- Help define and evolve the company's visual identity across its products, websites, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Maintain a consistent and high-quality design language across enterprise interfaces and public-facing digital platforms.
- Apply strong judgement when balancing minimal, functional design with bold visual concepts.
- Design landing pages, campaign assets, pitch decks, and executive presentations.
- Provide creative direction for the company's corporate and product websites, ensuring they are informative, visually engaging, and commercially effective.
Collaboration and Delivery
- Work closely with front-end developers on-site to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
- Partner with product managers to align design priorities with the product roadmap and user needs.
- Present and explain design decisions confidently to senior leadership, including the CEO.
- Deliver well-organised Figma files, annotated specifications, and production-ready assets.
- Challenge briefs constructively and contribute your own ideas and perspective throughout the design process.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Requirements
- A strong portfolio demonstrating range, visual quality, UX thinking, and a clear individual point of view. The portfolio will be the primary basis for assessment.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, variables, prototyping, design systems, and developer handover.
- Experience using 3D rendering or design tools when required.
- Strong knowledge of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture across web and mobile.
- Excellent visual design skills, particularly in typography, colour, layout, spacing, hierarchy, and motion.
- The ability to work across multiple platforms and design requirements while maintaining consistency.
- Fluent English communication skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Availability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi five days per week.
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing enterprise or B2B software, particularly complex workflows, data-heavy dashboards, or multi-user platforms.
- A good understanding of front-end development constraints. Coding is not required, but you should understand what is practical to build.
- Knowledge of motion design and micro-interactions, including when animation adds value to the user experience.
- Previous exposure to security technology, defence technology, government platforms, or other high-assurance software environments.
- Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
Your Portfolio
The client will place significant emphasis on the quality of your portfolio.
They want to see a range of work, the thinking behind your design decisions, and examples that demonstrate both creativity and practical problem-solving. Please include projects you are genuinely proud of, together with context around your role and contribution.
Applications without a portfolio link will not be reviewed.
Who You Are
- You naturally identify design opportunities and begin thinking of solutions early in the process.
- You pay close attention to the details that make an experience feel intuitive and polished.
- You understand when a design should be minimal and when it needs greater visual impact.
- You respond positively to feedback and remain focused on achieving the strongest outcome.
- You maintain high standards and are comfortable raising concerns when something does not feel right.
- You enjoy working closely with a small, talented, and collaborative on-site team.
