The Opportunity:
Turing is expanding into Physical AI. We are establishing a dedicated data operation to fuel the next generation of robotics foundational models.
We are looking for a Product Lead, Robotics Data Operations to lead the build and deployment of a proprietary data ingestion, processing and labeling platform designed specifically for robotics & physical AI.
You will sit at the intersection of Product Management, Engineering Management, and Service Delivery and will leverage a strong technical architecture & software engineering background to manage the technical roadmap, while simultaneously incubating the operations that will utilize the tool to deliver datasets to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Product Management
- Own the Roadmap: Define the vision and feature set for our internal Robotics Data Platform. This tool must handle complex multimodal data types specific to robotics datasets..
- Engineering Management: Act as the Product Owner for a dedicated team of software engineers. Translate business requirements into technical user stories, manage sprint priorities, and ensure the infrastructure is scalable and secure.
- UX & Workflow Design: Design the interfaces to maximize efficiency for human annotators working on complex tasks.
2. Infrastructure & Pipeline Strategy
- Pipeline Architecture: Define the requirements for high-volume data ingestion pipelines. You will direct the engineering team on how to architect systems that ingest raw data from disparate sources and prepare it for the labeling platform.
- Quality Control Systems: Spec out automated programmatic QA features to be built into the tool, reducing the reliance on manual review.
3. Solution Design & Customer Requirements
- Technical Translation: Participating in discussions with leading robotics labs and foundation model builders. Translate their high-level objectives into data collection protocols and platform feature requirements.
- Feasibility Analysis: Assess whether customer requirements can be met with current tooling or if new engineering features need to be prioritized.
4. Operations & Delivery Management
- Project Execution: Leverage the tool once operational to project manage actual data delivery for initial customers, owning the timeline, budget, and final quality output.
- Workforce Management: Recruit, train and manage specialized annotators and reviewers on these projects.
- Dataset Delivery: Ensure final datasets are exported as per the exact formats and quality standards required by the customer.
Candidate Profile:
- 7+ Years of Relevant Experience: We are looking for a seasoned professional who has seen the full product lifecycle multiple times. Ideally 3-5 years in hands-on Software Engineering followed by 3-5 years in Product Management or Technical Program Management.
- Product Experience: You have successfully managed engineering teams and shipped complex software products.
- Operational Rigor: You are not just a product manager; you are an operator who can take responsibility for managing timelines, teams, budgets, and ensuring high-quality delivery under pressure.
- Technical Pedigree: A background in Computer Science or Software Engineering is critical. You have past hands-on experience with Python, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and Computer Vision pipelines.
- Physical AI/Robotics Context: You understand the unique data requirements for training robotics foundational models.
