The role

We are looking for an AI Engineer to help build the next generation of our internal Fashion PLM platform.

A PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system is the core platform used to manage the full lifecycle of a product — from design and technical specifications to production and supplier collaboration.

This platform is designed to replace legacy tools and introduce AI-powered workflows across product development — from design support to technical documentation and production preparation.

You will play a key role in designing and building the AI layer of the platform, working closely with product, engineering, and business teams to translate real fashion workflows into intelligent systems.

This is a hands-on role with high ownership, where you will contribute directly to product decisions and technical architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI-powered features to support product development workflows (data enrichment, product attributes, documentation support)
• Develop and maintain retrieval systems (RAG) based on internal datasets to enable contextual and relevant outputs
• Integrate LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI or similar) into production systems, including prompt design and interaction logic
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs connecting AI capabilities to the broader platform
• Collaborate closely with designers, product developers, and supply chain teams to understand needs and translate them into scalable solutions
• Contribute to defining the AI roadmap by identifying high-impact use cases that improve productivity and operational efficiency

Profile requirements

• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering (Node.js, Python or similar)
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs in production environments
• Experience with RAG systems, semantic search, or vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate or similar)
• Strong understanding of API design and system integration
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent English required

Nice to have

• Experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar)
• Exposure to frontend technologies (React / Next.js)
• Experience in fashion, retail, or supply chain environments
• Experience integrating with ERP or legacy systems
• Based in UAE or willing to relocate
