About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Product Owner with deep expertise in the airline industry to lead the design, development, and optimization of airport-specific digital products and solutions. The ideal candidate should bring a strong understanding of airport, ground handler and airline business models, processes, and systems in the Airport Operations domain with focus on Baggage Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product backlog for airport-specific technology platforms (e.g., ground operations, baggage management platforms, etc.)
- Engage with airline stakeholders, customers and other product managers and owners to translate complex business needs and product features into user stories
- Define and build the product backlog for features that cater to ground handler, airport and airline business objectives, to be consumed by multiple product teams
- Responsible for the story content, acceptance criteria definition, ensuring stories and prepared on time for upcoming PI's, refined frequently with the team, and prioritized in alignment with other team backlogs
- Collaborate with internal teams (other product owners and managers, as well as architecture, engineering, UX/UI, QA, sales, and marketing) to build scalable, user-centric solutions
- Ensure non-functional requirements and technical debt are captured, refined, and prioritised across sprints
- Participate in and guide the team in demos of the developed product to stakeholders
- Track product performance through KPIs, user feedback, and analytics, and optimise product features
- Work with teams to identify and capture innovation ideas
- Build strong relationships with team members, peers, line and stakeholders
- Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in the aviation sector
- Appetite for building and identifying value, with a customer-centric mind-set
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of technology product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on airport/airline/travel domain
- Strong domain expertise in Airport Operations and Airline/Airport Baggage Management
- Knowledge of agile ways of working and product management principles
- Proven experience in agile product development environments
- Experience building or implementing B2B, B2E or B2C facing digital platforms and products for airlines and airports
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Exposure to Design Thinking workshops
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management with cross-functional teams and airline clients. Ability to influence without authority
- Ability to create wireframes, product documentation, and high-level technical requirements
- Certified in product management knowledge and skills
- Exposure to using AI for aiding product management practices
- Tools: Jira, Confluence, Qmetry, collaboration tools like Miro, Mural
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or related business/technology degree
- Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework
- Experience building innovative or AI products
- Experience working as part of complex programmes
- Familiarity with APIs, cloud-based platforms, and airport and airline data integrations
