Responsibilities
The Machine Shop Production Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the production activities within a machine shop facility. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely production of components and parts. The Production Coordinator coordinates the efforts of machine operators, machinists, and support staff to meet production goals while adhering to quality and safety standards.
The Machine Shop Production Coordinator position is a critical role responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of components vital to the industry. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety.

SUPERVISION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT:
Lead a team of machinists, machine operators, and support personnel.
Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure that team members perform their duties effectively and safely.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the machine shop.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, tooling, and supplies required for production.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies as needed.
Minimize waste and optimize material usage to reduce costs.

COMMUNICATION
Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports
FINANCIAL
All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

Authority

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field (preferred).
5-10 Years of relevant experience in machine shop operations, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

REQUIRED
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in production planning and scheduling/rute card in JDE.
Knowledge of machining processes and equipment.
Familiarity with quality control and safety standards.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
