Position: Production Manager – Glass Factory (Fully Automated Processing Plant)
Location: Saudi Arabia – Dammam
Type: Full-time
As a Production Manager at ABYAT, you will play a pivotal role in leading operations within a fully automated glass processing factory, specializing in cutting, tempering, and double glazing (DGU/IGU). You will ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality architectural glass products while driving operational efficiency, optimizing resources, and maintaining world-class quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive production plans aligned with sales orders, delivery schedules, and factory capacity.
- Manage and optimize operations across glass cutting, tempering furnaces, and DGU/IGU lines within a fully automated environment.
- Coordinate closely with manpower planning teams to ensure optimal workforce utilization and machine efficiency.
- Monitor and adjust production plans to meet tight deadlines, budget constraints, and customer requirements.
- Identify and resolve production challenges, enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across automated production lines, leveraging data and performance KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime).
- Oversee the creation of production orders and ensure proper documentation flow for material planning and execution.
- Provide accurate production reporting and budget insights to senior management.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards for tempered, laminated, and insulated glass units (IGU/DGU).
Production Raw Material Planning & Issuance:
- Review production orders to identify material gaps for glass processing (raw glass sheets, interlayers, spacers, sealants, etc.).
- Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability and issuance.
- Monitor raw material quality and provide feedback to support continuous improvement and supplier performance.
Policies, Processes, and Procedures:
- Implement and enforce production policies, SOPs, and best practices within glass processing operations.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization across cutting, tempering, and IGU production lines.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and international standards relevant to glass manufacturing.
Safety, Health, and Environment (HSE):
- Ensure safe operation of tempering furnaces, cutting lines, and automated glass handling systems.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the factory floor.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure full compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
People Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop production teams across multiple glass processing departments.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Plan and deliver on-the-job training programs, especially for automated machinery and advanced glass processing technologies.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and monitor performance to achieve production targets.
- Encourage teamwork, innovation, and employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in production/manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within glass processing / fabrication.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Glass cutting operations
- Tempering furnaces
- DGU / IGU (double glazing) production
- Automated production environments
- Proven experience in production planning, material management, and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of KPIs such as OEE, yield, downtime, and waste reduction.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (advanced certifications are a plus).
