Production Manager

As site Production Manager you will take charge and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the production department. You will be responsible for a team of highly skilled professional managers and supervisors delivering world class standards efficiency, GMP, budgetary control and safety for our business. Additionally, you will supply technical and project advice, liaising closely with all other manufacturing functions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work within a set budget to clearly defined financial limits
• Responsible for HACCP, GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Quality Management Systems in your area
• Responsible for the entire production Department
• Responsible for the delivery of the production plan
• Responsible for the hygiene of the plant and surrounding areas
• Responsible for the efficiencies and utilisation of the plant and labour pool
• Responsible for the training, development and discipline of the production team
• Responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive list of KPI's, and SMART objectives through our Balanced Score Card system. Your performance, and that of your department, will be constantly reviewed and evaluated

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Must have worked in a similar position before. Food experience essential (ideally Tetrapak filling).
• Ability to direct and motivate a large workforce
• Clear understanding of the importance of team work
• Degree calibre
• Results driven with the ability to set and meet challenging targets
• Forward thinking and innovative. Willing to manage change
• Worked with a diverse and multi-national workforce
• Flexible, with the ability to make decisions quickly based on available data
• Ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of continues improvement techniques would be a plus.

PERSONALITY

We are looking for a production manager with strong management and influencing skills. The majority of your time will be spent on the shopfloor making sure that all of the resources under your control are fully utilised. We are looking for someone who enjoys the pressures of classic production management, who has an acute sense of customer service and will be willing to work alongside his staff. Tenacious, quality focussed and results driven you will look to drive costs and wastage down and quality and efficiencies up. We require someone with a measured and calm approach to working life who is confident in his own ability.
