We are seeking a highly experienced and customer-focused Program Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale Data Center projects and programmes. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving successful project outcomes, maintaining governance and controls, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring transparency of programme performance.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Data Center environments, coupled with exceptional programme management, reporting, risk management, and client-facing skills. They will be accountable for overseeing project health, identifying delivery gaps, managing programme controls, and presenting progress and performance to executive stakeholders and customers.
This role requires an individual who can combine technical credibility, commercial awareness, and executive-level communication skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Programme & Project Leadership
- Own and drive the successful delivery of complex Data Center programmes from initiation through to completion.
- Provide strategic oversight across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Establish and maintain programme governance, controls, processes, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure alignment between project objectives, customer expectations, and business goals.
- Drive accountability across multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers.
Project Controls & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and govern programme reporting structures and dashboards.
- Monitor programme performance against schedule, budget, scope, quality, and risk metrics.
- Identify project gaps, risks, issues, and dependencies early and proactively drive mitigation plans.
- Review project data, analyse trends, and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate forecasting of budgets, resources, milestones, and delivery timelines.
- Track programme KPIs and provide regular executive-level reporting.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary customer-facing representative for programme delivery activities.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Lead programme reviews, steering committee meetings, and governance forums.
- Present project progress, achievements, challenges, and recovery plans in a clear and professional manner.
- Manage customer expectations while ensuring transparency regarding delivery performance.
Risk & Issue Management
- Establish robust risk and issue management processes.
- Conduct regular project health assessments.
- Identify delivery gaps and areas requiring intervention.
- Drive corrective actions and recovery plans where required.
- Escalate critical issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution.
Resource & Team Leadership
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams including engineering, construction, operations, commissioning, and support functions.
- Support project managers and technical leads to ensure consistent delivery standards.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop project management talent where required.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Monitor programme budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Ensure effective management of contracts, variations, and change requests.
- Support commercial negotiations and customer discussions where necessary.
- Manage programme delivery within approved financial parameters.
