Role Purpose:
Project Associate will act as the engine room of our Digital Transformation department. In this role, you will bridge the gap between strategy and execution across our three core technical pillars: Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Automation/AI. You will operate as a hybrid Scrum Master and Delivery Coordinator. Your primary mission is to ensure that our developers and data engineers are organized, unblocked, and delivering high-quality solutions on time. You will be responsible for the daily rhythm of the team, from running stand-ups to enforcing documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Task Management
- Task Breakdown & Assignment: Translate high-level business and project requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks and assign them to the appropriate Data Engineers, BI Developers, or PowerApps specialists.
- Sprint Management: Manage the product backlog and active sprints using project management tools such as Jira, Freshservice, Azure DevOps, or Asana.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor the status of all tasks daily, ensuring no item remains in In Progress without valid updates or forward movement.
- Resource & Priority Management: Balance team workload effectively, ensuring critical initiatives (e.g., data pipeline launches or PowerApp deployments) are prioritized and delivered on time.
Agile Facilitation (Scrum Master Responsibilities)
- Daily Stand-ups: Lead daily stand-up meetings to review completed work, planned activities, and identify blockers.
- Blocker Resolution: Serve as the first escalation point for the technical team by proactively following up with stakeholders to resolve access, data, or requirement dependencies.
- Retrospectives: Facilitate post-deployment or sprint retrospectives to identify lessons learned and drive continuous process improvement.
Documentation & Governance
- Documentation Standards: Ensure projects are not marked as Complete until all required documentation (Technical Design Documents, Data Dictionaries, User Manuals) is finalized, uploaded, and approved.
- Requirements Translation: Gather and document requirements for new PowerApps or BI dashboards and convert them into clear, well-defined user stories for the technical team.
- Change Management: Maintain accurate change logs for ongoing Automation and AI initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Delivery Oversight
- Initial Quality Checks: Conduct basic functional testing of PowerApps and BI dashboards prior to business User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Delivery Accountability: Track timelines closely, hold teams accountable to agreed deadlines, and proactively flag risks or delays to leadership.
Domain Coverage
You will manage projects across the following technical areas:
- Data Engineering: Data pipelines, data warehousing, ETL processes.
- Business Intelligence: Dashboards, visualizations, and reporting (Power BI / Tableau).
- Automation & AI: RPA bots (UiPath, Power Automate), scripting, and Generative AI integrations.
- Low-Code Platforms: Internal applications built using PowerApps.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT Project Management, Business Analysis, or a Technical Coordination role.
- Agile Practices: Hands-on experience managing sprints, backlogs, and stand-ups.
- Strong Follow-Up: Ability to persistently follow up and drive accountability without being confrontational.
- Technical Understanding: Familiarity with technical concepts (SQL, APIs, ETL, cloud platforms, variables, loops) to effectively collaborate with engineering teams.
- Documentation & Communication: Strong written skills for producing technical documentation and process flows (Visio, Lucidchart).
- Scrum or Project Management certifications (CSM, PSM, CAPM, PMP).
- Practical exposure to or familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate).
