Senior Officer Project Controls (Digital Reporting & Analytics)
The role is based at office, with travel to project sites as required.
My client is looking for a Senior Officer Project Controls to join our Operations team and play a key role in the digital transformation of our project reporting ecosystem.
This role sits at the intersection of project controls, data analytics, and digital systems integration, supporting enterprise-level reporting, automation, and decision-making across our project portfolio.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Controls, you will lead the integration of Primavera P6 EPPM with Power BI, oversee Power BI administration, and support the broader Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem (Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate).
Key Responsibilities
Integration & Automation
- Lead integration of Primavera P6 EPPM data with Power BI to deliver automated dashboards and KPIs
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and data connections across P6, Power Apps, and Dataverse
- Ensure data accuracy, refresh efficiency, and performance optimization
Power BI Administration & Development
- Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, permissions, and user access
- Maintain and develop interactive dashboards and executive reports covering schedule, cost, progress, and performance
- Design advanced visuals including Shape Maps / TopoJSON
- Implement row-level security (RLS), governance standards, and version control
Power Platform & Data Ecosystem
- Support integration of Power Apps, Dataverse, and SharePoint with Power BI
- Coordinate with IT and project teams to ensure seamless data synchronization
Process Improvement
- Identify manual reporting pain points and automate them using Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps
- Recommend and implement best practices in data architecture, visualization, and governance
Stakeholder Support
- Work closely with IT, EPMO, development, procurement, project controls teams, and senior management
- Deliver user training and maintain documentation for dashboards and integrations
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Relevant certifications in data analytics or project systems are an advantage
Technical Skills
- Advanced Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, administration)
- Strong experience integrating Primavera P6 EPPM with Power BI
- Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse
- Proficiency in SQL, APIs, ETL tools (Python or Azure Data Factory is a plus)
- Knowledge of data governance, RLS, and security frameworks
- Solid understanding of project controls concepts (schedule, cost, progress, KPIs)
Experience
- 57 years in data analytics, project reporting, or digital transformation roles
- Minimum 2 years developing Power BI reports for the construction / real estate sector, including Primavera P6 integration
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-level Power BI dashboards
- Background in engineering, construction, or project management environments strongly preferred
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI)
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker or Developer Associate
