Project Design Engineer - Hot Tapping & Online Leak Sealing clamps

Wescon International BV is seeking an experienced Project Design Engineer with strong practical and technical experience in the design and engineering of Hot Tapping, Online Leak Sealing, Pipeline Repair, and Engineered Repair Clamp systems for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pipeline, and Industrial facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for independently developing and delivering engineering solutions for live/in-service piping systems, including engineering calculations, design drawings, fabrication documentation, material selection, technical specifications, and engineering support during fabrication and site execution.

The position requires a strong understanding of pressure-containing systems, piping design, mechanical engineering principles, structural integrity, sealing systems, bolting, reinforcement, and engineered repair solutions.

Candidates with direct experience working for Hot Tapping, Online Leak Sealing, Pipeline Repair, or specialized mechanical repair companies will be highly preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design Hot Tapping and Online Leak Sealing systems for in-service piping.
• Design engineered repair clamps, including split, structural, leak-sealing, and pressure-containing clamps.
• Prepare GA, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing drawings.
• Perform calculations for pressure, pipe wall thickness, reinforcement, clamp/bolt loads, branch connections, and structural integrity.
• Review P&IDs, piping isometrics, specifications, and client requirements.
• Prepare MTO/BOM, datasheets, technical specifications, and design calculations.
• Coordinate with fabrication, procurement, QA/QC, and site teams.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and site execution.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable ASME, API, ASTM, and client specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of direct relevant experience in Hot Tapping, Online Leak Sealing, Pipeline Repair, and Clamp Design.
• Strong knowledge of piping, pressure-containing systems, welding, bolting, gaskets, and sealing systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; SolidWorks experience is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3/B31.4/B31.8, ASME PCC-2, API 570, and API 1104 is preferred.

• Preferred: Candidates with direct experience in specialized Hot Tapping / Online Leak Sealing companies or pipeline repair contractors will be highly preferred.
