Projects Director Residential/Resort Megaproject (Alexandria)

Project Overview

The selected candidate will oversee a newly awarded high-end residential megaproject located in Alexandria, one of Egypt's most important urban and coastal centers. The development consists of four major clusters, each led by a dedicated Project Manager. All cluster Project Managers will report directly to the Projects Director, who is responsible for ensuring full project integration, safe execution, quality assurance, and on-time delivery.

Position Summary

The Projects Director will provide overall strategic leadership and operational oversight for all phases of the Alexandria residential project. This includes supervising multiple clusters, leading engineering and construction performance, and ensuring adherence to the company's standards for HSE, quality, cost, and schedule. The Projects Director will act as the primary authority for project execution, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the residential megaproject across all four clusters, ensuring alignment with project goals and contractual obligations.
  • Manage, mentor, and oversee Cluster Project Managers, providing direction, technical guidance, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, methodologies, and resource strategies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and foster a culture of safe operations.
  • Oversee implementation of Quality Management Systems and ensure all works meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost optimization measures.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering teams, procurement, site operations, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Review and approve technical documents, design modifications, and construction methodologies.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, KPIs, forecasts, and strategic updates to senior management and the client.
  • Maintain strong communication across project teams and cultivate effective relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges promptly to maintain uninterrupted site progress.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).
  • 1820+ years of progressive experience in construction management, including at least 5 years in a Projects Director or senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing mega residential, mixed-use, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE practices, quality management systems, and modern construction methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple workfronts simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of performing under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Experience with leading or Tier-1 contracting companies is highly preferred.
