Project Engineer

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the Process Automation in Qatar)
You will be mainly accountable for:

• Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
• Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies. Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization.
• Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects.
• Utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
• Ability to work on large- or small-scale project single handedly or remote team as applicable.
• Must be able to co-ordinate with Factories in different regions. Work in cross regional and cross cultural environment
• Act as ABB project representative with EPC and End User.
• Able to deliver under tight deadlines and dynamic environment.
• Contract Management. Must be able to understand and handle contracts.

Qualifications for the role

• 5+years experience managing projects, ideally managing multi-fact projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with domain experience in Instrumentation products and solutions.
• Strong Experience in handling projects in instrumentation
• Ability to analyze numerical data and all other sources of information and decision making
  thereof.
• Has good analytical and problem-solving ability
• Strong Experience in procurement management
• Possesses good oral and written communication skills as well as decision making capability.
• Must be able to understand and manage contracts independently
• Should be good people manager with ability to manage cross cultural and remote teams.
