Sigma Engineering Works, a company of Mazrui Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Fabrication Teamin Mussafah Industrial Area, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Responsibilities

Project Execution & Control

  • Lead end-to-end execution of fabrication and skid-mounted projects covering mechanical, piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and E&I scopes.
  • Manage fabrication, assembly, wiring, tubing, inspection, testing, installation, and commissioning activities for:
  • Metering skids and skid-mounted process packages
  • Pressure vessels, separators, drums, and columns
  • Heat exchangers, air coolers, and static equipment
  • Develop and control project execution plans, schedules, and resource plans covering workshop, E&I works, and site activities.
  • Monitor progress against approved baselines and implement corrective actions in coordination with engineering, fabrication, and E&I teams.

Mechanical & Static Equipment (Core Responsibility)

  • Coordinate and control fabrication of pressure vessels, exchangers, piping, and structural components in compliance with ASME, API, TEMA, and project specifications.
  • Review mechanical design calculations, GA and detail drawings, nozzle orientations, supports, and lifting arrangements.
  • Oversee welding, NDT, PWHT, hydrostatic testing, dimensional checks, and surface protection activities.

Electrical & Instrumentation (Equally Core Responsibility)

  • Take technical ownership of electrical and instrumentation systems for skid-mounted packages, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical and piping scopes.
  • Review and coordinate E&I deliverables including:
  • Instrument data sheets, hook-up drawings, and tubing layouts
  • Electrical layouts, JB and panel arrangements
  • Cable schedules, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and termination drawings
  • Supervise E&I installation activities including cable routing, glanding, termination, earthing, instrument mounting, and tubing.
  • Plan and execute E&I testing and commissioning activities such as IR testing, continuity checks, loop checks, calibration, functional testing, and final system acceptance.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, ATEX/IECEx, and project-specific E&I requirements.

Engineering & Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables across mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Consolidate and submit calculations, drawings, method statements, ITPs, WPS/PQRs, MTCs, NDT, PWHT, and E&I test documentation to clients and TPIs.
  • Interface with vendors, panel builders, and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and timely delivery.

Client, Commercial & Change Management

  • Act as the technical focal point for client communications covering both mechanical and E&I scopes.
  • Manage scope changes and variations, evaluating technical, cost, and schedule impacts and coordinating revised or additional POs.
  • Provide regular project status updates to management covering progress, risks, and mitigation measures.
  • Participate in project close-out reviews and final documentation handover.

Tendering & Pre-Award Support

  • Support tendering and pre-award activities by providing:
  • Technical inputs and execution strategies
  • BOQs, man-hour estimates, and schedules
  • Mechanical and E&I scope clarifications for skid packages, pressure vessels, and exchangers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 1011 years of experience in oil & gas, EPIC, or industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, skid packages, and E&I execution.
  • At least 10 years of Middle East experience, with 4+ years in project engineering or execution roles
  • Strong hands-on experience in both mechanical fabrication and Electrical & Instrumentation systems for skid-mounted packages.
