Job Summary:
The Project Engineer – Infrastructure Construction Works is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing infrastructure construction projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and local authority regulations. The role oversees site activities, coordinates with consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders, and provides technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day infrastructure construction activities.
- Ensure project execution complies with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Review engineering drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedules.
- Prepare work programs, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to site.
- Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues during construction.
- Attend project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities.
- Monitor project costs and assist in cost control and variation management.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover activities.
- Ensure compliance with UAE authority requirements and permit conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- PMP certification is an advantage.
- Membership with a recognized engineering body is preferred.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of experience in infrastructure construction projects.
- UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage, water networks, stormwater, and infrastructure works.
- Experience working with main contractors on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of infrastructure construction methodologies.
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, and site management.
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D (preferred)
- Primavera P6
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts is an advantage.
- Familiarity with UAE authority standards (Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA, ADQCC, DMT, etc.).
