Role OverviewWe are seeking a qualified and proactive Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Egypt Office. This role is responsible for supporting mechanical project activities, coordinating design requirements, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and overseeing mechanical systems execution across project sites. The Mechanical Project Engineer will manage documentation workflows, support material and design submittals, follow up on testing, and ensure timely project delivery in alignment with Alfanar's quality and operational standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for managing mechanical works throughout all project phases, including documentation, procurement, design coordination, execution, and final handover. The role includes handling overhead cranes, firefighting systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and all related testing and commissioning requirements. It also involves preparing and managing documentation such as DPOs, POs, PRs, material and design submittals, GAFM, and tracking all materials until they reach the site. In addition, the engineer will prepare MIRs and RFIs, ensure proper follow-up with clients, address comments, and support final system delivery. The position requires coordination with multidisciplinary teams, supervision of site activities, monitoring of progress, and ensuring that all work complies with safety, quality, and engineering standards while maintaining accurate reporting and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and SkillsCandidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or project execution.
Familiarity with SEC standards is essential, and prior experience working on SEC substations is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including firefighting, HVAC, plumbing, and overhead cranes, is required, along with experience in mechanical design coordination. Applicants should be fully familiar with documentation processes such as DPOs, POs, PRs, design submittals, GAFM, and material delivery tracking. Practical experience in preparing MIRs and RFIs, handling client comments, and supporting system handover is expected. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are necessary, as well as the ability to work within cross-functional teams while maintaining high standards of organization and documentation.
