Role Overview
We are looking for a Project Engineer – Structure to join our team in an office-based design role focused on structural engineering, analysis, calculations, and technical coordination. The role will be responsible for supporting the structural design process across multiple projects, preparing calculations and design, reviewing drawings, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure structural solutions are technically sound, efficient, and aligned with project requirements and codes.
This role is best suited for someone with strong design office / consultancy experience rather than site execution, and who is confident handling structural calculations, technical detailing, and coordination with architects and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural designs, calculations, analysis, and technical reports for a range of building.
- Develop structural schemes and design solutions for concrete and steel in line with project requirements and relevant codes.
- Produce and review structural design calculations, design notes, reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with architectural, MEP, BIM, and project teams to resolve design issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Support the preparation of tender, concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC stage deliverables.
- Review shop drawings, design submissions, and technical documents where required from a structural engineering perspective.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with local authority requirements, international codes, and project specifications.
- Identify design risks, clashes, and technical issues early and propose practical engineering solutions.
- Support senior engineers / project leads in design reviews, project coordination, and client or consultant comments resolution.
- Contribute to value engineering and optimization of structural systems without compromising safety or design intent.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of structural calculations, drawings, and project records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- 4–6 years of experience in structural design / consultancy / design office environment.
- Strong experience in structural analysis, design calculations, and technical detailing.
- Good knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structure design.
- Experience working on building projects such as residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or high-rise developments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of relevant structural design codes and standards.
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, or similar.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit / BIM coordination is a Must
- Ability to read, review, and coordinate multidisciplinary design drawings.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage deadlines in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Preferred Profile
- Experience in consultancy / engineering design office rather than purely site-based roles.
- Strong technical mindset with the ability to independently handle design calculations and structural coordination.
- Exposure to projects in the UAE / GCC and familiarity with local design standards is a plus.
- Comfortable working closely with architects, design managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
