We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer – Waterproofing to manage and oversee waterproofing works across our construction projects, ensuring timely execution, technical compliance and high-quality project delivery.
Job Summary
The Project Engineer – Waterproofing will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution and supervision of waterproofing works. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with a specialized waterproofing contractor/company and a proven track record of managing waterproofing projects in the United Arab Emirates/GCC.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate waterproofing works from project planning through completion and handover.
- Plan and supervise waterproofing activities across multiple work fronts and project areas.
- Review and interpret approved drawings, specifications, shop drawings and method statements.
- Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, QA/QC, MEP and other project teams.
- Oversee waterproofing works for:
- Basements and foundations
- Roofs and terraces
- Podiums
- Wet areas and bathrooms
- Balconies
- Swimming pools
- Water tanks
- Expansion and construction joints
- Ensure correct surface preparation, material application and installation procedures.
- Review waterproofing material submittals and ensure materials comply with project specifications.
- Coordinate inspections, testing and approvals with consultants and relevant authorities.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and ensure timely completion of waterproofing activities.
- Manage waterproofing subcontractors, manpower, materials and site resources.
- Identify technical issues, leakages and defects and ensure effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate water-tightness tests, flood tests and other required testing procedures.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with ITPs, inspection requirements and quality standards.
- Monitor and close out NCRs, observations, snags and corrective actions.
- Prepare progress reports, site reports and project documentation.
- Monitor project costs, material usage and wastage where applicable.
- Ensure all waterproofing works are executed in accordance with HSE requirements.
- Support project handover, final inspections and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant waterproofing experience, preferably with a specialized waterproofing contractor/company.
- Minimum 5 years of United Arab Emirates /GCC experience in waterproofing projects.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of different waterproofing systems, materials and application techniques.
- Experience managing waterproofing works for high-rise buildings, basements, podiums, roofs, wet areas and swimming pools.
- Strong understanding of waterproofing specifications, testing procedures and quality requirements.
- Ability to review and interpret shop drawings, technical specifications and method statements.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating with consultants and main contractors.
- Strong project planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of United Arab Emiratesconstruction standards and consultant requirements.
- Valid United Arab Emirates Driving Licence is mandatory.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Candidates currently available in the United Arab Emiratesare preferred.
