Job Description

Lead and integrate all Topside engineering activities for an EPC project from concept/FEED support through detail design, procurement support, construction support, commissioning readiness, and as-builtsensuring engineering deliverables are issued on time, within man-hour budget, and in compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes/standards, and client/class expectations. Own engineering interface management, technical assurance, constructability, and engineering change control to enable safe and efficient project execution. Proven technical experience/ know-how on various industry leading OEMs for floater, mooring, offloading equipment packages and relevant operational aspects, industry standards, design codes and regulatory requirements. Strong track record on project engineering management from kick-off to close out phase in a larger capital project execution. Desirable to possess industry recognized project management certifications (PMP, PgMP, ChPP) etc.

Key Responsibilities

Policies, processes & procedures:

  • Develops and oversees the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of finance functional activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, including strict adherence to the Zero Tolerance to Alcohol policy at all times.

Budget/Financial

  • Prepares and recommends the department budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.
  • Monitors the financial performance of the section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Day-to-day operations:

  • Overall management and leading multi-discipline engineering teams during Pre-FEED / FEED and Project Execution phase for EPC projects (topside).
  • Develop engineering execution plan with work scope (Master Document Register) and schedule/cost (Cost/Time/Resources and manhour load charts based on MDR) per discipline based on client/regulatory requirements for assigned projects, lead alignment with clients on the execution plan and schedule.
  • Support commercial / tendering team on developing tender deliverables related to engineering cost / technical risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify, align with PMT / EPC Engineering Division leads on assigning best available resources (internally/externally) to execute the accepted scope of work; Facilitate with PMT in mobilizing the identified resources. Facilitate kick-off meetings with clients, internal / external stakeholders on the engineering scope of work.
  • Steward project engineering work execution ensuring all DDWD-EPC Engineering QA / HSE procedures are followed, issue regular project status report with EV / milestone tracking and project updates.
  • Ensure alignment between project engineering and project procurement strategy while executing Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE's) for critical packages, PO placement and technical follow up post PO.
  • Lead technical interfaces during project transition from engineering (post regulatory / technical review of deliverables) to construction / commissioning / offshore completion phases.
  • Align with Client / stakeholders on engineering close-out post hand-over with relevant as-built documentation.

  • Ensuring suitable resources are available to achieve satisfactory OHS compliance of all work within their responsibility
  • Ensuring that there is a documented Risk Management process for all work within their responsibility
  • Driving continuous Safety improvement through setting, monitoring and reporting on safety performance against objectives within their department
  • Ensuring identified corrective actions assigned to their department are closed out by agreed due dates
  • Demonstrating desired behaviors and leading, encouraging and communicating on safety issues when interacting with the workforce
  • Meeting all responsibilities as outlined in the DDW OHSMS
  • Participating in any training and safety initiatives implemented by the Company
  • Complying with all Safety directives, and work instructions
  • Immediately reporting any incident or potential hazard to their Supervisor or Safety Dept
  • STOP the task if you feel yourself or others may be harmed.
  • Device and implement controls to ensure no violation of ISR regulations in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties

Leadership and People Management:

  • Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets.

  • Support the management of change through continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Continuous improvement

  • Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting

  • Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards

Related Assignments:

A: Language skills:

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is added advantage.

B: Technical competencies:

  • EPC topside engineering execution and interface management
  • Engineering planning, progress measurement, and man-hour control
  • Vendor engineering, MR/PR and TBE processes

Education

Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Engineering or Master's Degree in relevant field.

Experience

1218+ years in EPC/offshore engineering, including topside detail design and integration.

5+ years in lead/project engineering management roles on complex projects.

Strong knowledge of engineering workflows, vendor integration, and yard execution.

Minimum of 8 years experience as Sr. Project Engineer (Tier-1 EPC) on FPU or FPSO projects (or)

Minimum of 5 years experience as Engineering / Project Manager (Tier-1 EPC) on FPU or FPSO projects during FEED/Execution phase.
