Proposed Title: Project Finance Manager
1. Financial Modeling & Structuring
- Build, optimize, and maintain complex, macro-driven Excel financial models for bidding and executing mega projects.
- Structure optimal capital allocations involving senior debt, equity, export credit agencies (ECAs), and development finance institutions (DFIs).
- Conduct rigorous sensitivity, scenario, and risk analysis to evaluate cash flows.
- Evaluate and structure project payment mechanisms, optimizing for either User-Pays (Toll/User-Fee) or Government-Pays (Availability Payment) frameworks, including minimum revenue guarantees.
2. Deal Execution & Capital Raising
- Manage the end-to-end financial closing process for new project concessions and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
- Prepare high-quality Information Memorandums (IMs), pitch decks, and term sheets for prospective lenders and investors.
- Lead commercial negotiations with international banks, syndicates, and institutional investors to secure competitive financing terms.
3. Risk Mitigation & Commercial Strategy
- Develop and execute sophisticated hedging strategies (interest rate swaps, FX forwards) to protect project margins.
- Review and align financial models with core project agreements, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts, O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements, and Concession Agreements.
- Ensure compliance with evolving market standards, specifically integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements to secure green bonds or sustainability-linked financing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Civil/Industrial Engineering. An MBA, CFA charter, or Master's in Infrastructure Finance.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in Project Finance, Investment Banking (Infrastructure/Energy group), or the structured finance department.
- Proven Track Record: Direct involvement in reaching Financial Close on a major infrastructure, energy, or transportation project.
Technical Skills
- Expert Financial Modeler: Advanced mastery of Excel with the ability to construct audited-level project finance models from scratch.
- Contractual Literacy: Deep understanding of PPP and EPC+F mechanics, concession laws, and commercial contract drafting.
- Macroeconomic Strategy: Strong knowledge of corporate tax laws, accounting standards for SPVs (IFRS), and international banking regulations.
Soft Skills
- Negotiation & Influence: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to sit across from senior lenders and government officials to defend financial positions.
