We are seeking an experienced Project HSE Manager to lead all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities on assigned project. The role ensures full compliance with JLW's HSE Management System, applicable legislation, and client requirements, while driving a strong, proactive safety culture across site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all HSE activities on assigned project in line with JLW HSEMS and approved Project HSE Plans.
- Ensure full compliance with local HSE legislation, company policies, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific safe systems of work and environmental procedures.
- Ensure all project HSE staff clearly understand their roles and responsibilities, and support performance reviews and assessments.
- Review and approve HSE documentation, including RAMS, method statements, permit-to-work systems, and safety procedures.
- Lead and participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Plan and conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and site assessments, reporting findings to project and HSE management.
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier HSE compliance and performance against approved RAMS.
- Maintain accurate HSE data, statistics, and reporting for the project.
- Support project management teams in preparing project-specific HSE plans, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Promote a strong HSE culture through training programs, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and recognition initiatives.
- Oversee HSE requirements during testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure HSE is treated as a core value and priority at all levels of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or Diploma Level 5/6 in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Mandatory NEBOSH IGC / GC certification.
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, systems, and best practices.
- Experience working with HSE digital management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to implement and manage HSE systems on live construction projects.
