Job Description: Manager Projects
Position Overview:
The Manager Projects will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and handover of large-scale infrastructure, renovation, and lifecycle projects. Operating within a high-stakes campus environment, the incumbent will manage a significant portfolio (AED 50M+), ensuring that all capital and operational projects align with global standards of excellence, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Project Leadership
- Direct the full lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure and renovation projects, managing an annual project value of approximately AED 20 million.
- Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and performance dashboards to ensure total transparency for stakeholders.
- Lead the seamless transition and handover of assets from the project delivery phase to Facilities Operations.
2. Technical & Operational Oversight
- Provide subject matter expertise in MEP, HVAC, and civil works, ensuring all construction and maintenance activities allow for uninterrupted campus operations.
- Manage a diverse facility portfolio, including specialized environments such as laboratories, healthcare facilities, theaters, sports complexes, and residential accommodations.
- Implement comprehensive maintenance strategies (PPM, corrective, predictive, and reactive) for newly commissioned assets.
3. Sustainability & Innovation
- Drive energy efficiency initiatives, including BMS software upgrades, LED lighting transitions, and advanced water conservation methods.
- Manage specialized sustainability projects and carbon footprint reduction programs.
4. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure 100% compliance with UAE regulatory authorities, including ADM, ADCD, TAQA, and OSHAD.
5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate closely with academic and research stakeholders to synchronize project timelines with the academic calendar, minimizing disruptions to teaching and research.
- Oversee vendor procurement, contract administration, and performance management to ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is an advantage.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in facilities project management, preferably within higher education, healthcare, or large-scale commercial sectors.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million AED budgets and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Deep familiarity with UAE Building Codes and local regulatory landscapes.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Project Management software
- Strong understanding of FM practices and asset lifecycle management.
