Role Description The Project Manager – Bridge Work Only is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for managing bridge construction projects from inception to completion. This role oversees project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring work is executed in line with technical specifications, safety requirements, budget constraints, and agreed timelines. The Project Manager coordinates with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and inspection authorities, monitors progress on-site, and resolves issues related to materials, logistics, and construction activities. Daily responsibilities include leading project meetings, reviewing drawings and method statements, tracking work progress, preparing status reports, and implementing corrective actions where needed. The role also requires strong risk management, quality control, and adherence to WBG's policies and ISO-certified procedures.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and risk management for bridge construction projects.
- Candidates should possess Expeditor and Expediting skills to follow up on materials, equipment, and documentation, ensuring timely delivery and readiness for site activities.
- Candidates should possess Inspection skills, with experience in quality control, compliance with engineering standards, and coordination with regulatory and certification bodies.
- Candidates should possess Logistics Management skills to oversee material flow, transport coordination, and site supply chain operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
- Proven experience managing bridge or major structural works, preferably within the construction sector in the GCC region.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, safety regulations, and quality standards; familiarity with ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and ISO 45000 requirements is beneficial.
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to work collaboratively with diverse on-site teams.
- Proficiency in project management and engineering software (e.g., MS Project or equivalent scheduling tools, AutoCAD or similar) is preferred.
