The Opportunity
The Project Manager – Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of cloud infrastructure platforms and strategic technology programs across compute, networking, storage, and platform services environments.
This role requires strong project and program management expertise combined with a solid understanding of cloud technologies and infrastructure operations. You will lead complex delivery initiatives, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage governance processes, and ensure production readiness and operational stability across Core42 cloud platforms.
Your Key Responsibilities
Program & Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of cloud infrastructure and platform programs
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource plans
- Manage multiple delivery workstreams including Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Platform Services, QA, and Operations
- Track project progress, dependencies, and inter-team alignment to ensure timely delivery
- Ensure delivery objectives are achieved within agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards
Governance & Change Management
- Establish and manage governance forums and delivery review processes
- Ensure proper change management, release governance, and deployment controls are followed
- Define and enforce project delivery standards, documentation requirements, and sign-off processes
- Maintain visibility of project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans
- Ensure adherence to organizational governance, compliance, and operational policies
Risk & Quality Management
- Identify, assess, and manage technical, operational, and vendor-related risks
- Ensure quality assurance, performance validation, and security gates are achieved
- Drive production readiness activities including soft launch, go-live approvals, and operational acceptance
- Monitor post-release platform stability and coordinate stabilization activities when required
- Ensure continuous tracking and resolution of project delivery issues
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage vendors and external partners under milestone-based or T&M delivery models
- Ensure vendor accountability for delivery timelines, scope, and quality outcomes
- Act as the primary coordination point between business, technical, operational, and external stakeholders
- Provide regular status updates, executive reporting, and project governance reporting to leadership teams
- Facilitate effective communication across cross-functional delivery teams
Technical Oversight
- Demonstrate strong understanding of:
- Compute infrastructure including VMs, hypervisors, and capacity planning
- Networking technologies including VPCs, routing, subnets, firewalls, security groups, load balancing, and EIPs
- Storage technologies including block, object, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
- Platform services including monitoring, logging, IAM, and automation frameworks
- Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure:
- Architecture alignment
- Proper deployment and configuration management
- Early identification and mitigation of technical risks
- Manage project delivery and release tracking using Jira and Microsoft Project
Operational Readiness & Transition
- Ensure operational readiness including runbooks, support processes, and monitoring capabilities
- Coordinate transition and handover activities to operations and support teams
- Oversee onboarding readiness and service enablement for customers and stakeholders
- Support production rollout planning and operational stabilization activities
What We're Looking For
(a) Required Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT project or program management
- Proven experience delivering cloud infrastructure, cloud platform, or data centre programs
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts and cloud platform technologies
- Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional technology delivery programs
- Strong knowledge of project governance, change management, risk management, and delivery methodologies
- Experience working with Jira for release planning, delivery tracking, and project management
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
(b) Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as:
- OpenStack
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with:
- Virtualization technologies including VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V
- Networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers
- Container platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Understanding of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
- Certifications such as:
- PMP
- PRINCE2
- ITIL Foundation or higher
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
- Experience operating within hyperscale, enterprise, or regulated cloud environments
- Ability to manage complex multi-team delivery environments with high attention to detail and governance
