Key Responsibilities: Project Manager – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I):
- Project Leadership: Direct all E&I project activities from mobilization to commissioning and final handover while providing leadership to multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Execution & Technical Management: Oversee installation, pre-commissioning, loop checking, energization, and commissioning of HV/LV power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, substations, field instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Construction & Field Coordination: Supervise E&I field activities, enforce compliance with drawings and method statements, resolve technical issues, and coordinate interfaces across civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
- Commercial & Budget Control: Manage budgets, forecasts, labour productivity, variations, change orders, and commercial risks.
- Quality Assurance: Enforce compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans, coordinate FAT/SAT activities, and manage quality handover dossiers.
- HSSEQ & Radiation Safety: Drive a Zero Harm policy, lead site safety audits, and maintain 100% adherence to electrical safety, LOTO, permit-to-work, and uranium-specific radiation protection protocols.
- Procurement & Logistics: Coordinate procurement, review technical vendor documents, monitor inventory, and ensure material availability to meet schedules.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary interface for the client, manage technical clarifications and change requests, and provide weekly/monthly progress reports.
- Risk & Team Management: Maintain the project risk register, mentor technical staff, perform evaluations, and manage project KPIs and close-out documentation.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Professional Registration: Professional Engineer license (e.g., GhIE, COREN, Ordre des Ingénieurs) preferred.
- Certifications: PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner highly desirable; NEBOSH/IOSH safety and PLC/DCS/SCADA certifications are an advantage.
- Overall Experience: Minimum 10 years in E&I engineering and construction, with at least 5 years in a Project Manager or Senior E&I Management role.
- Industry Focus: Proven track record delivering E&I projects in mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of industrial electrical power distribution and control systems.
- Site & Industry Context: Experience managing multicultural teams on remote international sites; prior experience in high-risk, uranium, or nuclear environments is strongly preferred.
- Languages: Fluent English (mandatory); French proficiency highly desirable for stakeholder management in West Africa.
