Project Manager – GT Wet Compression (WetC) Power Augmentation Project
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Duration: 6–8 Months (extendable)
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager / Owner's Representative to support a GT Wet Compression (WetC) Power Augmentation Project in Abu Dhabi.
The selected consultant will oversee all project phases from feasibility validation through engineering, execution, commissioning, handover, and warranty support, ensuring the Owner's technical, commercial, schedule, and quality interests are fully protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main interface between the Owner, OEM, EPC contractors, Operator, lenders engineer, and all project stakeholders.
- Review feasibility studies, engineering deliverables, technical proposals, and due diligence reports.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities including:
- Mechanical
- Piping
- Electrical
- Instrumentation & Control (I&C)
- Civil
- Water-side systems
- Manage contractor interfaces, project schedules, risk registers, CAPEX tracking, and project reporting.
- Oversee QA/QC activities, site inspections, outage coordination, commissioning, testing, and performance verification.
- Support technical evaluation of claims, variations, disputes, and warranty obligations.
- Ensure successful project handover, documentation close-out, and transfer to Operations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as Project Manager, Owner's Engineer, or similar role on:
- Gas Turbine projects
- Combined Cycle Power Plants
- Desalination plants
- Brownfield power plant upgrades
- Strong background in power plant modifications involving OEM coordination and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Experience in:
- Project controls
- Schedule management
- Commissioning
- Performance testing
- QA/QC oversight
- Familiarity with stakeholder management involving Operators, EPC contractors, lenders engineers, and project companies.
- Strong commercial awareness including change management, claims review, and CAPEX monitoring.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous Wet Compression (WetC) project experience will be considered a strong advantage.
