Project Manager Pre-Contract / BESS

Location: UAE / Saudi Arabia / Türkiye / Uzbekistan / Egypt

Role Overview

This role owns large-scale BESS opportunities from initial qualification through contract signing, ensuring that technical, commercial, contractual, and delivery requirements are clearly defined and executable before project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage BESS opportunities across the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa from opportunity qualification and requirement clarification through proposal, bidding, negotiation, and contract signing.
• Lead RFI, RFQ, RFP, and major tender activities, coordinating Sales, Engineering, R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal teams.
• Establish and track customer requirements covering system performance, grid connection, delivery, localization, warranty, and after-sales support.
• Identify and manage technical, cost, schedule, certification, grid-connection, commercial, and contractual risks.
• Lead internal project reviews and drive timely management decisions on critical open issues.
• Act as the primary project coordination interface during customer workshops, clarification meetings, and commercial negotiations.
• Organize structured project handover to the execution team after contract signing, including scope, commitments, schedule, risks, and outstanding items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, Energy Engineering, Project Management, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy, power, BESS, or EPC projects.
• Experience in pre-sales project management, major tenders, project development, or contract negotiations preferred.
• Working knowledge of utility-scale BESS, including battery systems, PCS, BMS, EMS, grid connection, RTE, and availability requirements.
• Strong project planning, risk management, cross-functional coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Fluent English with the ability to independently lead customer and internal project meetings.
• Willingness to be based in or travel extensively across the region.
