About the Job
The Project / NPI Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating New Product Introduction (NPI)projects from product development and prototyping through to successful transfer into volume production. The role works closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet quality, cost, timeline and delivery requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage NPI and product development projects from initial concept through to mass production.
- Coordinate with customers, engineering, production, quality, tooling and other cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide technical and engineering support to customers and resolve product or process-related issues.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, deliverables and ensure on-time project execution.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of prototypes, proto-tools, samples and production tooling.
- Drive successful product transfer and transition into volume production.
- Monitor product quality, delivery and overall project performance to meet customer expectations.
- Identify potential project risks and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in product development, processes and project execution.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in NPI, project engineering, product development or operations, preferably in precision optics, micro-injection moulding or advanced manufacturing.
- Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Independent, proactive, self-motivated and able to make effective decisions.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Strong sense of ownership with a results-oriented and continuous improvement mindset.
