Role Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Manager who is passionate about building both high-performing products and resilient teams. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, mentoring engineers while driving our technical roadmap. Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-output team of engineers; conduct performance reviews and architect career development pathways.
  • Technical Strategy: Collaborate with Product Managers to define the technical roadmap and ensure infrastructure architecture is scalable, secure, and robust.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement and refine Agile/Scrum methodologies to optimize delivery velocity and maintain high code quality standards.
  • Culture Building: Cultivate an environment of technical excellence, psychological safety, and continuous professional learning.
  • Cross-Location Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with global colleagues, ensuring seamless communication across different time zones.

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years of total engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a formal leadership or management role.
  • Technical Depth: A proven track record of delivering complex technical systems (e.g., Cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or high-volume manufacturing).
  • Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Australian talent market and industry standards.
  • Distributed Team Management: (Highly Desirable) Experience managing remote or distributed teams, including asynchronous processes and collaborative tooling.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Executives).

Logistics & Compensation

  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
  • Location: Sydney, NSW (Strictly On-site).
  • Salary: From $4,000 AUD per month (plus statutory Superannuation).
  • Relocation: Candidates must be willing to relocate to Sydney. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
