Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to establish, lead, and oversee the Planning function across all company projects. The role is responsible for driving effective project time management, developing standardized planning procedures, and ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and corporate objectives. The Planning Manager will provide leadership to planning teams, deliver accurate schedules and reports, and support senior management with reliable planning insights to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Scheduling Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized project planning and scheduling procedures across the organization.
- Lead the preparation, review, and update of project baseline schedules in line with contractual requirements.
- Establish and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and ensure integration with cost control systems.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies to evaluate project performance.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Supervise and review periodic progress reports prepared by Planning Engineers.
- Consolidate project data and prepare executive-level dashboards, forecasts, and reports.
- Coordinate with site teams to collect progress updates, monitor performance, and identify risks or delays.
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
Delay Analysis & Claims Support
- Analyze project delays and assess schedule impacts.
- Evaluate and support Extension of Time (EOT) claims, including entitlement analysis and recommendations.
- Participate in progress meetings, risk workshops, and coordination sessions, ensuring action items are tracked and closed.
Tendering & Project Close-Out Support
- Provide planning support during tendering, including preliminary schedules, methodologies, and resource histograms.
- Oversee preparation of project close-out reports and lessons-learned documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of planning tools, systems, and best practices.
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and manage Planning Engineers and planning teams.
- Coordinate closely with Project Controls, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
- 1012 years of experience in project planning and controls, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Proven experience on large-scale projects such as infrastructure, healthcare, data centers, or mixed-use developments.
- Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PSP (AACE), or equivalent are preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Office tools.
- Knowledge of Oracle Primavera EPPM / ERP systems is an advantage.
