Position Overview

Role Summary
The Consultant will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for psychiatric conditions affecting children and adolescents. The role involves close collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams to support the emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive, high-quality psychiatric care for children and adolescents
- Provide specialist consultation services upon request
- Supervise and guide fellows, residents, and assistant physicians
- Contribute to teaching, training, and academic development within the department
- Participate in research initiatives and scholarly activities
- Serve on hospital committees and fulfill administrative duties as required
- Perform approved specialized procedures within credentialed privileges
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical governance standards
- Undertake additional related responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Certification
- Medical degree from a recognized and accredited institution
- Completion of specialized training in Psychiatry and/or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Recognized board certification or equivalent (e.g., American Board, MRCPCH UK/Irish, Canadian, Australian & New Zealand qualifications, European Boards, Saudi Board, Arab Board, or equivalent specialist fellowship)
- Consultant eligibility as per Saudi Commission standards
- Valid DataFlow verification is mandatory
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3–4 years of post-board or post-fellowship experience in Psychiatry or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Registration with the Saudi Board Council (where applicable)
Language Requirements
- Strong command of English is required
- Arabic language is mandatory
