About the Internship
As a Public Relations (PR) Intern, you'll do realistic public relations work inspired by real companies: researching mock journalists and outlets, drafting mock press releases, planning mock media pitches, and tracking mock coverage.
You'll learn how PR teams earn media coverage, shape narratives, and protect reputations — research, writing, pitching, and measurement.
Responsibilities
* Research mock journalists, editors, and outlets across tech, business, and education beats.
* Build mock media lists segmented by beat, outlet type, and audience reach.
* Draft mock press releases for product launches, milestones, and announcements.
* Draft mock media pitches tailored to specific journalists and angles.
* Draft mock thought-leadership articles and op-ed outlines for executives.
* Draft mock media kits with company facts, bios, and visual assets.
* Draft mock Q&A briefs and talking points for executive interviews.
* Plan mock product-launch PR campaigns with timelines and outreach waves.
* Track mock media coverage and draft mock coverage reports with sentiment analysis.
* Draft mock crisis-communication holding statements and response plans.
* Draft mock press-kit emails and follow-up sequences for media contacts.
* Build mock influencer-and-journalist relationship trackers (mock CRM).
* Draft mock event invitations and RSVP campaigns for press briefings.
* Draft mock bylined-content calendars for founders and spokespeople.
* Prepare mock executive-ready presentations of PR results and learnings.
* Use AI tools to draft releases, refine pitches, and summarize coverage.
Requirements
* Current student or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
* Strong written communication — you can write clean, newsworthy copy.
* News sense — you understand what makes a story worth covering.
* Organized and reliable with deadlines and follow-ups.
* Confident communicator who can represent a brand professionally.
* Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is a plus.
* Previous professional PR experience is not required.
What You'll Gain
* A portfolio of press releases, pitches, and media plans.
* Hands-on experience running mock PR campaigns end to end.
* Practical skills in media research, outreach, and storytelling.
* Understanding of how earned media builds brand credibility.
* Experience using AI for drafting, research, and analysis.
* Personalized AI feedback on your work.
* Professional certificate upon successful completion.
* Mentorship and weekly learning sessions.
* Opportunity to strengthen your portfolio, resume, and interview readiness.
