About the Role Purchase Executive (IT Research)
The Purchase Executive IT Research is responsible for researching, benchmarking, and supporting procurement decisions related to IT hardware, software, systems, and services. This role is non-transactional-heavy and focuses on market intelligence, cost analysis, vendor research, and technical-commercial comparisons to support strategic IT purchasing.
You will work closely with IT, procurement, and finance teams to enable data-driven sourcing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
IT Market & Vendor Research
- Conduct market research on IT hardware, software, licenses, cloud services, and IT solutions
- Identify and benchmark OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and service providers
- Track pricing trends, lead times, warranty terms, AMC/SLAs, and licensing models
- Research alternative solutions for cost optimization and technology upgrades
Commercial & Technical Analysis
- Prepare technical-commercial comparison sheets for IT products and services
- Support evaluation of RFQs/RFPs by compiling vendor data and research insights
- Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle costs for IT assets
- Support negotiation preparation with data-backed cost insights
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with IT teams to understand technical requirements and specifications
- Assist procurement teams in preparing PRs, cost estimates, and approval documents
- Maintain a structured IT vendor database, price benchmarks, and research repository
- Support audits by maintaining accurate documentation and research records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain
- 36 years of experience in IT purchasing, procurement research, or vendor analysis roles
- Exposure to IT hardware, software licensing, and IT services procurement
- Experience in UAE / GCC IT vendor markets is an advantage
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of IT products, systems, and procurement terminology
- Excellent research, benchmarking, and analytical skills
- Ability to prepare comparison matrices and cost analysis reports
- Strong coordination and stakeholder communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and documentation tools
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and data integrity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
