Job Summary

The Purchasing Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and equipment in line with technical specifications, budget, and project requirements while ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs to ensure accurate purchasing.

Source suppliers, request quotations, and evaluate technical and commercial offers.

Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in coordination with finance and logistics teams.

Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, production progress, and delivery timelines.

Coordinate with logistics for shipping arrangements and documentation.

Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications and quality standards.

Maintain supplier database and evaluate supplier performance.

Support cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).

23 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in industrial or engineering companies.

Strong technical understanding of materials and equipment.

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems.

Very good command of English (written and spoken).
