Procurement & Supply Chain
Job Purpose:
To lead, manage, and optimize the procurement operations for fresh produce, organic groceries, and food products. The candidate will oversee global supplier relations, negotiate high-value import contracts, manage inventory levels, and ensure that all imported goods strictly comply with Singapore's food safety regulations (SFA standards).
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Strategic Global Sourcing: Proactively research, evaluate, and establish strong commercial relationships with international growers, exporters, and suppliers across global markets to secure a steady supply of premium fresh fruits, vegetables, and organic products.
- Contract & Price Negotiation: Lead complex commercial negotiations regarding pricing, quality standards, shipping terms (Incoterms), and payment structures to optimize cost efficiency and maximize profit margins.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Oversight: Oversee international freight forwarding, cold-chain logistics, and local customs clearance to minimize transit times and ensure the maximum shelf-life and freshness of arrivals.
- Inventory & Demand Planning: Analyze sales data, market trends, and seasonal availability to forecast inventory demands accurately, preventing both stockouts and excessive food wastage.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Partner with the Quality Control department to ensure all imported food products fully comply with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulations, ISO 22000, and standard food safety benchmarks.
- Supplier Performance Management: Conduct regular performance audits of existing vendors based on product quality, delivery punctuality, and price competitiveness, implementing corrective actions or sourcing alternatives when necessary.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop, manage, and monitor the annual procurement budget, preparing comprehensive cost-analysis reports for the senior management team.
