Job Description

We at Aureus Marine Services are excited to be recruiting for an experienced purchaser to join our growing team in the DMCC / JLT area in Dubai and support our vessels and operations in the Middle East. We are looking for someone energetic, enthusiastic, and with the following base requirements:

Job Specific:

Responsible for the purchase of supplies, consumables, general and specialized equipment, materials and business services

Process RFQs, identify new vendors, negotiate pricing, initiate orders and arrange logistics for timely and cost-effective delivery of good and services

Awareness of IMPA codes and standards, knowledge of international trade terms, and country specific customs rules.

Keep track of released purchase orders, shipment status, generate an open-order report and support month-end reconciliations

Conduct advance purchasing studies by searching and evaluating new vendors in different regions

Assist in arranging routine vessel repairs and operational services

Assist in coordinating marine logistics and port services

Individual Specific

Technical or Engineering degree

3 - 5 years of purchasing related experience, preferably offshore support vessel related

Organized and efficient

Technical minded with the ability to work independently and support the team

May be required to work after hours or on weekends to support operations

Ability to react and respond quickly to unforeseen and urgent requirements

Do what it takes attitude.

Resourceful with high level of honesty and integrity

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with offshore support vessels
  • Strong understanding of vessel machinery, systems, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite and planned maintenance systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adherence to ethics and code of conduct.
