Python Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Python Full Stack Developer (Technical Lead) to join our Market Abuse IT team in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering multiple complex projects in the Trade Surveillance area, utilizing SONATA 2.0 infrastructure and technology to develop, enhance, and maintain Compliance Surveillance Models for BNP Paribas.

Job Responsibilities

• Work independently in application development, support, enhancements, and bug-fixing
• Utilize understanding of design principles to create custom software solutions or modify package solutions
• Develop and contribute to initiatives that transform and modernize the capabilities and services of the Compliance and Trade Compliance function
• Collaborate with Compliance to identify appropriate models to cover various scenarios and validate existing setup
• Ensure adherence to Bank and information systems policies and procedures, security measures, and audit standards
• Mentor junior team members on technology and processes
• Prepare high-quality test plans and conduct tests at Unit, Regression, Integration, and Code reviews
• Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives and upskilling of other team members
• Contribute to development/writing of Technical Specifications document, Test plan, and Test Cases

Required Skills and Experience

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Python, Pandas, and Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL
• Good knowledge and understanding of data modeling
• 8+ years of experience in Banking IT, with a good understanding of Corporate and Institutional Banking activity
• Knowledge of Capital Markets is an asset
• Good knowledge and understanding of Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting
• Proven record of interpreting and fulfilling requirements by developing high-performing, scalable, and maintainable solutions with multiple technologies
• Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies and best practices, including Waterfall Process, Agile methodologies, deployment automation, code reviews, and test-driven development
• Strong coordination and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities
• Bachelor's Degree in Python, database, finance, or equivalent experience
