QA Automation Engineer - Web

About The Role

We're seeking a hands-on QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright (TypeScript) and exposure to API testing and automation. The ideal candidate is an ownership-driven individual contributor who thrives workingindependently while closely collaborating with Product, Development, DevOps, and UAT stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply strong QA process fundamentals — test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management —alongside automation, not in place of it.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust web automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright with TypeScript.
• Build and maintain API test scripts and automation (REST) for functional and regression validation, using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or Playwright.
• Take end-to-end ownership of test automation for assigned modules/features as an individual contributor.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Development, DevOps, and Business teams to define test strategies, quality gates, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with UAT stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and validate user acceptance testing cycles.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) to enable continuous validation.
• Identify, document, and track defects, driving root cause analysis in collaboration with development teams.
• Generate test execution reports and dashboards for stakeholder visibility and decision-making.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years of QA experience with a strong focus on web automation.
• Strong understanding of QA processes and methodologies, including STLC, test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management — not limited to automation alone.
• Hands-on expertise in Playwright with TypeScript, including designing and building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Working knowledge / exposure to API testing and automation (REST), using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or Playwright.
• Strong programming/scripting proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of automation design patterns (e.g., Page Object Model) and reusable component design.
• Experience integrating automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take full ownership of deliverables as an individual contributor.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams and directly with UAT stakeholders.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Exposure to performance testing tools (K6, JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience in banking, fintech, or digital transformation projects.
• Self-driven and ownership-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
