About Position
- You will join a high-impact engineering team building a Python-based platform powering APIs, data/ML pipelines, and GenAI capabilities (LLM-based services). Today, quality is mostly implicit. Your mission is to build it from scratch and make it a first-class engineering discipline.
- You'll be embedded within a squad, working side by side with backend engineers, ML engineers, SREs, and product teams, and acting as the quality reference point for everything we ship.

What You'll Do
Build quality as a platform (from zero)
- Define and implement end-to-end automated testing strategy across APIs, data pipelines, and GenAI services
- Build Python-based testing frameworks using Pytest (including async testing)
- Establish scalable, reusable test architecture that teams can adopt
Own API & platform quality
- Design and implement automated API testing for FastAPI-based services
- Ensure functional correctness, resilience, and edge-case coverage
- Validate behavior across distributed and async systems
Lead quality for AI/LLM systems
- Build evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs
- Define and implement quality metrics (factuality, hallucination rate, consistency, etc.)
- Create prompt testing and regression suites to prevent model drift and unexpected behavior
- Bring structure and repeatability to an inherently probabilistic system
Define the engineering quality bar
- Establish quality gates in CI/CD (GitHub Actions) — no test, no release
- Drive shift-left quality, actively participating in design discussions and architecture reviews
- Define what done means from a quality perspective
Performance, reliability & observability
- Design and implement performance tests (e.g., Locust) for APIs and services
- Work with SRE to ensure quality signals are visible via Grafana and observability tools
- Validate behavior under load and failure scenarios
Security & robustness
- Validate API behaviors around authentication, input validation, and error handling
- Contribute to ensuring secure and resilient systems, including LLM-specific risks (e.g., prompt misuse)
- Contribute to governance and standardization: reusable templates, reference implementations, and documented patterns for internal agent/app delivery.
Expertise You Will Bring
- 6+ years of experience in QA / SDET / Quality Engineering roles
- Strong experience in Python-based test automation (Pytest preferred)
- Proven experience testing APIs (REST), including async services
- Experience building test frameworks from scratch — not just executing tests
- Deep automation mindset — 90–100% automated testing environments
AI / ML Quality (must-have)
- Hands-on experience with LLM or AI system validation
- Experience defining evaluation metrics for model outputs (e.g., hallucination, accuracy, consistency)
- Familiarity with prompt testing and regression strategies
