Job Purpose
The QC Inspector Coating ensures that all coating and painting activities on pipelines, equipment, tanks, and structural components comply with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. The role involves inspection, documentation, and quality assurance throughout surface preparation, coating application, and curing processes.

Responsibilities
- Review and approve quality documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), material test certificates (MTCs), and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
- Conduct surface preparation inspections to verify cleanliness, profile, and environmental conditions before coating application.
- Inspect coating application processes on piping, equipment, and structural steel to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Perform coating quality tests such as DFT (dry film thickness), adhesion tests, holiday testing, and visual inspections.
- Review and approve coating procedures, method statements, and contractor submittals for compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, dew point, temperature) to ensure suitability for coating operations.
- Verify coating materials for correct batch numbers, shelf life, and manufacturer specifications.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, and maintain accurate documentation for QA/QC records.
- Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, and client representatives to resolve coating-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company HSE policies during coating activities.
- Participate in final walkthroughs and punch-list clearing for coating-related items.
- Review and approve quality documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), material test certificates (MTCs), and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
- Prepare and submit regular quality reports to project managers and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies, including ISO, ASME, API, and other applicable codes
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and audits, including non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action reports (CAR)
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Certification in coating inspection such as NACE Level II or BGAS Grade 2
- Strong knowledge of coating standards (SSPC, NACE, ISO, ASTM).
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
- Minimum 5 years experience in coating inspection within the oil & gas industry
Required Skills
- Great mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in inspection tools such as DFT gauges, holiday detectors, hygrometers, and profile gauges.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Act responsibly during emergencies.
