Role Purpose

The purpose of the QA Test lead - Port Automation, is to lead and support port automation and integration testing activities related to the port development, including but not limited to process automation testing and optimization as well as quality assurance and test management. This includes engagement with Superusers and testing resources to coach and direct them during the testing phase.

Seamless integration between the container terminal and the automated warehouse is a key deliverable for the Neom Sea Mobility and Supply Chain and Logistics teams. As such warehouse automation integration testing is also included in scope, incorporating horizontal transport, interfaces between the two assets as well as implementation and integration testing of terminal and warehousing systems, this role will support the testing and quality assurance of the interfaces.

To ensure seamless integration, significant engagement in testing of warehousing automation is anticipated across all automated warehouse workstreams.

The QA Test lead also is responsible for following up and reporting of test results and set up of proper defect management communication with internal and external stakeholders.

The QA Test lead is responsible for the operational set up of the whole testing chain, from BPM's to use cases to test case creation.

Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Provide leadership for all related automation testing activities.
  • Lead automation testing projects and maintain project standards including business process mapping and transformation.
  • Coach and guide superusers and testing resources, who likely do not have previous automation experience.
  • Ensure that testing activities include both terminal and warehouse integrated testing programs.
  • Lead test workstreams in the implementation of container terminal automation.
  • Create a systematic approach for the support of quality assurance to ensure quality control.
  • Evaluate QA Automation options + perform feasibility analysis to evaluate which QA tests can and cannot be automated.
  • Oversees resource and project planning for manual and automated testing.
  • Obtain and maintain thorough knowledge of operational testing specifications.
  • Provides periodical reports on testing progress to all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of relevant testing procedures, templates, documents, and standards.
  • Manage the operation of the quality assurance testing team undertaking planning, organizing, and delegating work, monitoring progress, and intervening as required.
  • Ensure timely and open communication of all QA related test information with all levels of leadership.
  • Working together with terminal Operations to ensure a smooth handover of all tested automated features ready to be implemented into the terminal Operation.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and support to the Testing Team members (observational coaching, side by side) to maximize employee engagement.
  • Organize and support training of test resources.
  • Leading and coaching of Terminal OPS superusers.
  • Set up of testing protocols.
  • Make sure the defect management structure is followed.
  • Support and participate in release management discussions.
  • To accomplish ad-hoc tasks when required.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Solid knowledge in port automation and integration initiatives, previous role in container terminal automation and test management is a pre.
  • Strong project testing tool knowledge. (ALM etc.)
  • Knowledge of: TOS, GOS and supporting applications in live environment as well as automated equipment used in container handling
  • Proficiency in creating test cases.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance test processes and systems in automation implementations
  • Knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes is an added advantage
  • Have good command of both written and spoken English

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a college or university
  • Relevant years experience in the automation and integration role in container ports
