With some of our exciting launches such as Burj Azizi (the second tallest tower in the world), Monaco Mansions and Azizi Venice – Dubai's new luxurious Venetian-Inspired Waterfront community, we are rapidly expanding our onsite Supervision team based at Dubai.
As a QA/QC Engineer – Civil, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes for all civil construction activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in high-rise or large-scale construction projects in Dubai, with strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, quality management systems, and local authority requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for civil construction works in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensure all civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, applicable codes, and quality standards.
- Review and approve Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), method statements, material submittals, and other quality documentation submitted by contractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with approved project requirements.
- Inspect civil works including concrete, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, finishes, and other related construction activities.
- Monitor concrete pouring activities, including pre-pour inspections, testing, sampling, and post-pour requirements.
- Ensure all materials used on site are approved and comply with project specifications and relevant standards.
- Identify non-conforming works (NCRs), initiate corrective and preventive actions, and monitor the close-out of quality issues.
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Project Engineers, Consultants, Inspectors, Contractors, and Subcontractors to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Witness material testing, laboratory tests, inspections, and other quality-related activities as required.
- Review and maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, checklists, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, project quality plans, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant Dubai Municipality and other UAE authorities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Participate in site meetings, progress reviews, quality audits, snagging, de-snagging, and project handover inspections.
- Monitor and report recurring quality issues and recommend corrective actions to improve overall project quality.
- Provide technical guidance and promote quality awareness among site teams and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.
- Mandatory experience in civil construction projects in Dubai/UAE.
- Experience in high-rise building or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and project-specific Quality Management Plans.
- Proven experience in concrete, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, waterproofing, finishes, and other civil construction activities.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing ITPs, method statements, MIRs, IRs, NCRs, checklists, and quality documentation.
- Experience working with Consultants, Contractors, Subcontractors, and relevant UAE authorities.
- Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, method statements, material submittals, and quality documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, inspection, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
