Job Purpose
The role is responsible to ensure that all casting and forging products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications by implementing and maintaining effective quality control processes. The role plays a critical role in minimizing defects, improving production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection and Control
- Inspection of casting and forging as per the quality procedures and drawings.
- Drive the QC process across the casting shop as per the organization procedure and Expectations.
- Controlling of Non-Confirming Product within the plant asper the NCR procedure including the internal NCR management.
- Preparation casting ITP and Product inspection plan for both internal & External to ensure the product Quality.
- Perform quality inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Record inspection results and analyze quality data to identify trends and issues.
- Manage the day-to-day inspection activities in the casting shop floor.
- Liaise with Third party inspection agencies for the inspection and related activity
- Responsible final product clearance as per the quality requirements.
Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate with team for root causes analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide quality feedback to improve production processes.
Quality System Management
- Maintain and improve quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and APIQ1.
- Manage the customer or third-party audit along with QA.
Inspection Equipment Management
- Manage calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Operate equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably from Casting or forging industry. Experience in API Q1/20A/20B is essential.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, ultrasonic testers).
- Familiarity with quality inspection such Visual, NDE.
- Understanding of metallurgical properties and heat treatment processes.
- Exposure to ASTM / EN/ API Q1/API20A /20B standards related to casting & forging Industry.
- NDE ASNT / ISO 9712 Level-II,
- QMS internal auditor.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
