Role Description

The Qs Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Giza, working closely with project, engineering, and finance teams to support healthcare facility construction and maintenance projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents; verifying quantities on drawings; and assisting in the evaluation of contractor proposals. The role also involves conducting site inspections to validate completed work, tracking project costs, and updating quantity and cost records throughout the project lifecycle. The Qs Engineer collaborates with stakeholders to ensure adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards, and prepares regular reports that support decision-making and project control.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

* 3–7 years of experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Control.

* Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and pricing.

* Good understanding of construction materials, specifications, and project requirements.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.

* Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.

* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

* Experience in healthcare, commercial, or large-scale construction projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quantity take-offs.

* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and pricing for projects.

* Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.

* Evaluate and compare contractor/subcontractor quotations.

* Monitor project costs and identify cost variances.

* Prepare and review variation orders, interim payments, and final accounts.

* Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Project teams to ensure accurate cost control.

* Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, contracts, and project documentation.

* Support the team in cost optimization and commercial decision-making.
