Senior All Rounder QA Engineer (Automation) | On-Premise, AI-Enabled SaaS Platform, Dubai/Bangalore
About the company
Our client is a high-growth, venture-backed cybersecurity pioneer that builds sovereign AI platforms and hardware appliances to protect global critical infrastructure and operational technology (OT) environments.
Senior QA Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own quality across a complex product: a data-heavy UI, an asynchronous queue-based backend, LLM-generated features, and on-premise/air-gapped deployments. You will test end to end from browser interactions to message queues, Postgres databases, and disk storage—while stabilizing our existing Playwright suite and building Python integration tests.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and extend our Playwright (TypeScript) suite. Eliminate flakiness, validate SSO/RBAC, and test complex UI components (large data grids, charts, file uploads, polling screens).
- Write Python/pytest integration tests for REST APIs. Directly query Postgres and validate search behaviors in OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
- Test multi-step pipeline flows across message queues and workers (Kafka, Celery). Debug failures across dead consumers, missed migrations, and networking layers.
- Develop evaluation strategies for non-deterministic LLM outputs, ensuring factual grounding, schema validation, and reference integrity.
- Debug multi-service Docker Compose stacks on Linux. Test fresh installs, upgrades/rollbacks, backup/restore, resource-constrained environments, and air-gapped deployments.
- Maintain GitLab CI pipelines, define release gating criteria, scope regression testing from Git merge requests, and provide clear go/no-go sign-offs.
- Maintain test traceability and build reusable test data/cleanup routines in Jira and dedicated test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript) and Python (pytest).
- Working knowledge of SQL (Postgres) and API testing.
- Practical experience testing async/queue-based architectures (Kafka, Celery, etc.).
- Hands-on proficiency with Linux, Docker / Docker Compose, and GitLab CI pipeline authoring.
- Experience using test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Qase) and Jira.
- Clear communication with confidence in risk management and release sign-offs.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with on-premise/air-gapped software releases.
- Performance/load testing (k6, Locust, JMeter).
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Leveraging AI tools to optimize test writing and maintenance.
