Job Purpose:
The Quality Assurance Engineer Mobile Testing is responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of Floward's mobile applications (iOS and Android). This role focuses on validating mobile user experience, executing structured test scenarios, supporting mobile automation efforts, and ensuring releases meet both functional and non-functional requirements before deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Test Planning & Execution:
- Design, document, and execute manual test cases based on product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for mobile applications.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, usability, and exploratory testing across iOS and Android platforms.
- Validate UI/UX consistency, responsiveness, device compatibility, and OS version compatibility.
- Conduct end-to-end testing of mobile user journeys including checkout, payments, and notifications.
Mobile Functional, Integration & API Testing:
- Validate mobile-to-backend integrations through API testing using tools such as Postman.
- Perform data validation and ensure correct request/response handling.
- Test push notifications, deep linking, mobile permissions, and device-specific behaviors.
- Ensure seamless integration between mobile apps and web/backend systems.
Test Documentation & Defect Management
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date test cases and test documentation.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA or similar tools with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
- Assist in tracking QA KPIs and release quality metrics.
- Participate in release validation and go-live verification activities.
Mobile Automation & CI/CD Support
- Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts for mobile applications (e.g., Selenium, Appium or similar frameworks).
- Collaborate with senior QA engineers to integrate mobile test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to improving automation coverage and reducing regression effort.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Mobile Developers, Backend Engineers, and Designers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Provide early feedback during feature development to prevent defects and reduce rework.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 13 years of experience in mobile application testing (Android and/or iOS).
- Hands-on experience in manual testing with exposure to basic automation.
- Experience testing mobile apps in production-like environments.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with mobile testing tools and debugging methods.
- Familiarity with Selenium, Appium (or similar automation tools).
- Experience using Postman for API validation.
- Basic SQL knowledge for backend data validation.
- Familiarity with JIRA, TestRail, or other test management tools.
- Understanding of mobile app release cycles (App Store / Google Play processes is a plus).
