Job Description

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. In this role, you will be responsible for testing software to identify bugs, performance issues, and usability concerns before they reach the end-user. You will work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and advocate for a high-quality user experience

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Design

  • Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create comprehensive test plans.
  • Design, develop, and maintain detailed test cases and checklists.
  • Identify test data requirements and prepare necessary data sets.

Test Execution

  • Perform various types of testing including Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Execute manual test cases and/or develop and maintain automated test scripts (depending on the role focus).
  • Document test results clearly and track software defects.
  • Act as a super user for the applications and guide the end users for using the features & functionalities of the app

Defect Tracking & Management

  • Log and track defects using bug tracking tools.
  • Provide detailed steps to reproduce bugs and work with developers to troubleshoot issues.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure fixes do not introduce new issues.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to the team.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure quality is built into the product from the start.

Technical Skills

  • Methodologies: Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC.
  • Testing: Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing types, and defect management processes.
  • Documentation: Experience creating test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices.
  • Bug Tracking: Proficiency with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, or Trello.
  • API Testing: Hands-on experience testing APIs using Postman or Swagger.
  • Database: Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data validation and back-end testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
