Job Objective
QA/QC Engineer has the overall responsibility to verify the implementation of the Quality policy on the Project through the various activities at the site in order to ensure that the project's quality objectives are met.
- Responsible for QA/QC documents of the assigned projects including QCP, tools certificates, calibration certificates, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered and other important QA/QC documents.
- Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods and maintain high standards of quality for all processes.
- Review quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality and collaborate with the department for all material procurement and maintain a quality of materials.
- Supervise the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.
- Assist with employees to ensure knowledge of all quality standards (Ex. ISO 9001) and ensure compliance to all quality manual and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain the quality of all systems.
- Perform quality audits as per required schedule.
- Analyse all products and non-conformance processes and evaluate all documents to ensure the maintenance of optimal quality and prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance.
- Monitor an efficient system and record for all project activities and analyse all processes to ensure all work according to quality requirements.
- Manage all work methods and maintain knowledge on all quality assurance standards and monitor continuous application for all quality assurance processes and recommend corrective actions for all processes.
- Develop a method statement for the activity including risk assessment and job safety environmental analysis and
- Develop Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on specifications of the project.
- Coordinate with the customer's representative and Site In-charge for inspection.
- Report to the QA/QC Senior Manager, control, and monitor all activities related to Quality.
- Inspect and sign off as reviewer to release refurbished and/or any procured spare parts for critical equipment.
Qualification & Experience
- Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with all internal organization departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong coordination and organization skills, with strict emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- 7+ year of experience and knowledge as a professional engineer within the power industry
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in understanding and performing quality inspection rotating equipment in a power plant.
- Advanced knowledge of project specific documentation related to new equipment turnover for installation, inspection, testing, repairs, and alterations.
- Advanced knowledge of safety programs.
- Ability to develop and manage non-conformance, deficiencies, and reporting programs, including root cause analysis.
- Experience with the creation and administration of inspection planning, weld/welder tracking and reporting programs.
- Must have the ability to work within strict deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanour
- NDT (UT, MT, PT) level II or III; NACE certification level II or III are a plus.
This role involves frequent travel to power plant sites and vendor facilities for inspections, audits, and equipment turnover activities. Candidates must be willing and able to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice.
