Job Description

Job Title: QA/QC Coating Inspector

Department: Operations

Reports To: QA/QC Manager

Location : Abqaiq, Damam, KSA

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Coating Inspector to oversee coating inspection activities for both onshore and offshore projects. The role involves conducting inspections, maintaining quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with technical and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in coating processes, testing methods, and relevant industry certifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities related to internal and external field joint coating using robotic and semi-automatic equipment.
  • Prepare and issue quality records and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and submit them to the Quality Control Supervisor when required.
  • Maintain daily inspection reports and logs covering inspection, surveillance, and intervention activities. Ensure all documentation, plans, reports, and certifications are properly updated, reviewed, approved, and filed.
  • Monitor the storage conditions and certification status of consumables.
  • Perform qualification of coating processes.
  • Verify that coating materials, surface preparation, and application processes comply with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), SATIP/SATR/SAIC requirements, construction quality programs, and relevant technical specifications.
  • Review and approve pre-inspection, field joint, and final inspection videos for assigned projects.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT), including environmental condition monitoring, visual inspection, anchor profile measurement, soluble salt contamination (SCM) testing, dust testing, holiday detection, curing verification, and dry film thickness (DFT) measurement.
  • Conduct destructive testing such as adhesion testing, penetration testing, impact testing, DSC sampling, hardness testing, and hot-soak adhesion evaluation for industrial and pipeline coating systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Coating Inspector.
  • Valid certification such as NACE Level 2 or BGAS Grade 1 / FROSIO.
